My Vacation to Pico Island, Portugal

Since I was a little boy I've dreamed about visiting Pico Island in Portugal. It's where my mother was born, and the time finally came when we could all go and see the homeland.

The trip

• Day 1: Flying from Toronto to Pico.
• Day 2: Up Pico Mountain, local food and a visit to the church.
• Day 3: My grandparents' house, and whale watching on the Atlantic.
• Day 4 and beyond: More adventures with Alright Robyn around the island.

Why it meant so much

Seeing where my family comes from, the land, the food and the people, gave me a whole new appreciation for my roots. Watch the full video for the journey.
