How to Work Out From Home When the Gyms Are Closed
I hear this all the time: "The gyms closed, so I stopped working out. I need my expensive gym equipment." Guess what? That's nothing but an excuse.
It happened to me too
Twelve months ago I started Health Happenings with Zac Spinosa at Forge Fitness. Very soon after, wham, the gyms closed on me too. The place I was working out shut down and I had to do this at home on my own.
Two feet and a heartbeat
So what did we do? I had two feet and a heartbeat. Zac gave me just two home workouts, each about 20 to 25 minutes, all bodyweight. I rotated them: workout one, workout two, back to workout one. Add a daily walk, and that's what carried me through most of my weight loss.
Find solutions, not excuses
When you hit an obstacle, ask yourself: how do I do this anyway? Start finding solutions and implementing them. When you become stagnant, you can't reach your goals. If you want to be healthy and lose weight, you can't just sit around and wait for your gym to reopen.
Bad decisions lead to more bad decisions. Good decisions lead to more good decisions. Go on YouTube, talk to someone, talk to me, get a couple of workouts, and start at home today.
This week's update
Last week I weighed in at 178.2 pounds. Even after a snowstorm and a bunch of foods this week, we kept the train rolling. Watch the video for the latest number.
