What is it like being the mayor of Wainfleet, my favourite place in the entire world, for eight years? April Jeffs knows, and she joined me on the Happenings Podcast to explain exactly what it's like.
I'll be upfront, as I was with April: if I graded my own politics knowledge it would be about a 1.3 out of 10. So this was a great chance to learn from someone who's been in the middle of it.

- Cannabis dispensaries in Wainfleet. I'd done some street interviews asking people whether dispensaries should come to Wainfleet, and April shared how she would have looked at the question.
- Amalgamation. There's been a lot of talk about merging Niagara's municipalities. We discussed what that could mean for a rural township with beaches, farmland and a unique identity.
- Who's moving here. Newcomers from the GTA are discovering Wainfleet and loving it.
