Mr. Gifford was one of my favourite teachers in high school, and he also coached me in football. Like a lot of students, I gravitated to him because of his ability to connect with kids and make the whole environment fun. We recorded this one on Canada Day, and it turned into our longest episode yet: over three and a half hours.
Highlights
- Conspiracy theories. Glenn is big into them, from the Curse of Oak Island to Civil War gold. It's a hoot.
- Kids and social media. Facebook is for parents now. We talked about Snapchat, Instagram, streaks and stories, and what teachers see every day.
- When work doesn't feel like work. Glenn's story about his first teaching paycheques and realizing he loved what he did.
- Knowing your audience. What great teachers and great speakers have in common.
Grab a coffee (or a few), this is a long, fun one. Thanks, Mr. Gifford, for everything back then and for this conversation now.
