Health Happenings Reward Pizza: The Luciano's Pizza Party
The time has finally come. We got below 190 pounds, and that means we've earned ourselves some Luciano's pizza. For months I've been running, eating icicles and lettuce, and dreaming about this day. Welland's number one pizza on the Welland Pizza Detour, and we're going to gorge.
The order
- One large: half cheese and pepperoni, half pepperoni, hot peppers and green olives
- One large: half Hawaiian, half meat lovers
- Ten medium wings and ten hot wings, with blue cheese and carrots
The plan was to pretend I was Fat Joe again, eat as much pizza and as many wings as I wanted, and ride the couch.
Wing etiquette
We did a poll around the table: drums or flats? I'm a flats guy, but I'll eat them all. I honestly can't remember the last time I had a chicken wing. These were the good size, not jumbos, not tiny.
The final count
Three slices of pizza, 11 chicken wings, two containers of blue cheese, about half the carrots, and one full water. Alright Robyn had three slices as well, and way fewer wings.
Was it worth it?
Every ounce. It was delicious, and Luciano's is number one for a good reason. But here's the interesting part. I'm fuller than I've felt in months. I don't feel disgusting, I feel super full. And this is how I used to eat almost all the time.
That's the lesson. A reward meal is fine when you've earned it. It just can't be every meal. Now let's see what the scale says next week.
