Health Happenings Week 17: Tennis, Step Challenges and a Pizza Promise
Week 17. Just over four months since we started this in February, back when it was freezing outside and I was walking and yogging through the winter. We've come a long way.
Busy is not an excuse, but it's real
We've got new people joining the Right Choice team while they finish their real estate licensing, and my own business is getting busier. My time is more limited, so this week I couldn't stick to the same rigorous schedule. But we're still eating well, and we're still sneaking in sprints and home workouts where we can. Gold Medal Patsy even joined me for a workout. I did lunges holding her.
Walks are my favourite part
The walks with Alright Robyn are one of my favourite parts of this whole journey. Blood flow, fresh air, quality time together. It's win-win-win.
Picking up a racquet
For the first time in years, Alright Robyn and I went out to the courts in Wainfleet and played some tennis. Exercise doesn't have to be just walking and running. Sports count too, and they're a lot of fun.
Step challenges
I've been doing step challenges on the Samsung Health app with friends. One day I hit 30,000 steps, about four hours of walking, and the next day I could barely move off the couch. On average I'm somewhere between 10,000 and 15,000. If you use the app, hit me in the DMs and join a challenge.
The reward
When I get under 200 pounds, I'm treating myself. We're going back to Welland's best pizza on the Welland Pizza Detour: Luciano's. Pizza and wings. I've been craving it like crazy since the pizza reviews. I even passed on a Luciano's pizza at a family get-together. I'm waiting until I earn it.
