Health Happenings Week 8 Run: Tell Me What's Holding You Back
I just finished my home workout and now it's time for my second run of the week. Earlier this week Alright Robyn challenged me to a race, so that one turned into an actual run. Today I'm on my own, it's cool and sprinkling a bit, and that doesn't matter.
The best part of running
It's not the running itself. It's the end of the run and how I feel right after. Most people have taken their health seriously at some point and know how good that post-workout feeling is. It's also easy to fall off the train. I know, I spent ten years slacking. Excuses come easy. Getting off the couch doesn't.
Your health matters more than ever
With everything happening in the world right now, it's a good time to take your health seriously. I'm no expert, but being in better shape can only help you. You've only got one shot at this.
I want to hear from you
I appreciate all the support and the people telling me they've been inspired. But now I want to hear from the people who are having a hard time getting going, because I know what ten years off the train feels like. Whatever your obstacle is (time, money, an injury, or just yourself), send me a message. Anyone who knows me knows I'll find time to talk to you.
The numbers
Today was a 3.5 kilometre run in around 23 minutes. When I raced Alright Robyn we did 4K in about 24 minutes, so I may have been a little quicker in the race. And this selfie stick is definitely giving me an arm workout.
