Health Happenings Week 9: Two Months In and the Push-Up Test
Week 9 of Health Happenings, and we're continuing with physical distancing. Today's start of Week 9 means eight weeks are complete. That's two months. Alright Robyn is helping me weigh in here at HQ, and Zac Spinosa is coaching from over at Forge Fitness.
Eating at home
Almost every meal this week was eaten at home. I made a big pot of chili in the slow cooker with lots of extra lean ground beef, so the calories were probably a little higher, but it was full of good food. I do feel bad not supporting the restaurants as much right now, but health is the priority.
Supersets on my own
Zac set me up with a superset workout this week. Doing it without him in the room, my form wasn't perfect, but I really enjoyed it because it triggered new movements and new muscles. I was sweating more than normal. Zac's at-home demo this week is a great full-body exercise you can do right in your living room. Check it out in the video.
The push-up test
At the one month mark I did 20 push-ups. In my workouts I'm doing sets of 10 to 12. Today I went to exhaustion to see how far I've come. Watch the video to see the final count, plus the wall sit retest.
Thank you, Zac
I have to take a moment to thank Zac Spinosa and Forge Fitness. With the gym shut down, he could have easily put this on pause. Instead he adapted and kept working with me virtually. Zac, I really appreciate it.
